The overall goal of the project is to improve access to career pathways for Deaf people and to create appropriate online resources for Deaf people and supports for Guidance Counsellors offering services to Deaf people. This project includes four key activities:
Support for project manager in relation to general management and implementation of the project.
Development and delivery of training and support to 72 participants via 6 Job Clubs.
Development and delivery of training to 40 guidance counsellors via 2 seminars.
Research and reporting, an initial report on availability of resources and services suitable for Deaf people outlining challenges and gaps. Secondly, a project evaluation report
Guidance Counsellor Consultant (successful tenderer) The successful consultant will be involved throughout the process and will work closely with the Irish Deaf Society project officer to ensure the successful implementation of the project and development of resources. Conducting initial desk research to determine existing training resources and supports available to Deaf people. Drafting a report document on that research.
Write a project evaluation publication to include validation of project assumptions, gap identification supported by practical project activity feedback and assessment. Establish further objectives beyond lifespan of this project including pathways to Deaf led employment career guidance beyond the lifetime of the project.
