The contract drawings detail the extent of the work which includes: 1) Demolition works; the removal of the existing pitched roof, ceilings, chimney’s and all associated fittings and services to allow for replacement with new. This will involve the removal of the interlocking concrete roof tiles, felt, rafters, joists, hangers, collars, plasterboard ceilings, insulation, barge details, asbestos, wallplates, gutters, downpipes, plumbing, fixings, chimney flashings, chimney caps, chimney cowels, partial chimney stacks, light fittings, emergency lighting, smoke detection, telecoms, cables, etc., and all other necessary removals to facilitate this project whether expressed here or otherwise as required to complete the project. 2) There is asbestos present in this project. The contractor should engage a suitably qualified and approved sub-contractor for all asbestos removal works. 3) Construction and installation of new pre-manufactured roof trusses, felt, roof tiles, ceilings, light fittings, ventilation and all other external and internal finishes. 4) Heating, electrical, lighting, fire alarm, intruder alarm and other alterations are the responsibility of the main Contractor. The latter will engage suitably qualified domestic sub-contractors who are capable of the installation of the above services. 5) The Main Contractor will be appointed as Project Supervisor (Construction Stage) in Health and Safety matters. 6) All other works included in the tender drawings and all works necessary for the proper completion of the project whether or not expressly stated in the contract documents.
