The school are looking for a single storey extension measuring a minimum of 100m2. The contract is to include Mechanical & Electrical and fit-out, and the extension needs to meet Part L2A Building Regulations. It has been suggested that this could take the form of a glazed steel framed structure with a steel profile roof.

The tender is to include for all contract preliminaries and associated groundworks. The contractor will be responsible for removal of all waste from the site, including the existing bike shed, and will be responsible for ensuring there is no damage to the surrounding trees.

Photographs of the building that is to be extended are attached to the enquiry (Appendix 1 – Benchill Primary School – Photographs), along with a sketch location plan.

The successful contractor will be expected to comply with all relevant building regulations and make arrangements for building control signoff. You will be expected to be the Principal Designer and Principal Contractor and as such take on all associated CDM responsibilities.

It is expected that completion of the building works will take place during term time which you will need to take into account when preparing your risk assessments and method statements. All Staff working on site will need to have the necessary DBS checks carried out.
