Birmingham City Council requires a supplier for the provision of 3D geometry data modelling the City Centre and surrounds.
A range of City Council activities are supported by the architectural Computer Generated Imagery (CGI) function of City Design and Conservation. This service supplies photo-realistic 3D visualisations of development proposals for marketing and publicity purposes and for use in documents such as the Our Future City Plan.
Developments in CGI software have created opportunities to use such data in new ways to support the planning and design process and to create innovative marketing and communications materials including interactive digital models, allowing users to explore development proposals and growth areas in real time.
